Kirsten Powell

Founder and Principal Designer

Kirsten Powell is the founder and lead designer at Decorated Interiors. She is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the design process, from the initial consultation to the final reveal and beyond. Since 2011, Kirsten has worked with many clients in the Kamloops area to successfully transform their space from a place they are uncomfortable in, to a place they never want to leave.  She strives to WOW her clients throughout the process and takes pride in not only creating exquisite transformations but also the most functional options to suite the needs of each individual client.

Kirsten believes that a home is more than just four walls and a roof. “It is not only a place where we should be able to unwind after a long day but also a place where we can become our best selves. As our environment effects the way we feel, our thoughts and our behaviours… we need to ensure we are surrounded by spaces that enhance our wellbeing and encourage an opportunity to become the best versions of ourselves.”  Kirsten excels at creating a one-of-a-kind space for each of her clients. She believes that because every person is unique, so too, should be their home.

In addition to holding a diploma in Interior Decorating and Merchandising (2010) from Bow Valley College in Calgary AB; Kirsten is also an accredited member of the Decorators and Designers Association of Canada (DDA). She has received the “Best of Houzz” Service Award in multiple years and has been nominated 3 years in a row for the RBC’s Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards.

When Kirsten is not busy transforming her clients’ homes, she can be found going on adventures with her husband and two boys. Among other things, they enjoy camping, disc golfing & boating. She also enjoys snuggling with her cat, playing volleyball, waterskiing & archery. Making time to laugh with good friends and family is a priority in her life. Kirsten enjoys being creative outside of the interior design world, although it does tend to follow her home. She frequently says how lucky she is to be married to a carpenter… as she has constantly got some sort of project on the go, which almost always requires his skill set!
